Forward/Adelante, Virginia’s first bilingual business journal, is distributed quarterly throughout Central Virginia. Since 2008 our readership has grown from 3500 to now reaching over 10,000.The primary objective of Forward/Adelante is to encourage all Virginians to focus on the wonderful contributions being made by the newest members of our dynamic business environment...those that have come from South and Central America, the Islands, Spain, Mexico and other parts of the world seeking the security and the freedom to pursue the unlimited opportunities in the areas of trade, education, business, and the arts. Forward/Adelante bridges the gap of language and culture to enable Spanish-speaking businesses to communicate with and access the services and information offered by their English-speaking and more established counterpart. We encourage a two-way relationship between both parties by creating multi-faceted tools for reaching out, including our bilingual business journal, online social media presence, our Chapter 6 Networking events, Out and About events, and active participation with several Chambers of Commerce and government resource centers. The process of assimilation into the American cultural landscape begins with communication. Breaking cultural divides and working together is what cities such as Charlottesville, Staunton, and Harrisonburg do best – and Forward/Adelante is listening. How can we help YOUR business operate more effectively in today's multicultural environment? As a Realtor serving the Charlottesville VA market, Olga Morse began to notice that the area’s growing Hispanic population needed a platform to build relationships within the business community. Olga was inspired and in 2008 she developed Forward/Adelante as a means to mentor, assist, and lead Virginia’s new residents coming from many parts of the world to invest in the growing economy.
